What types of watches do you sell?

We specialize in vintage Seiko and Citizen watches from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, which we believe represent the golden era of Japanese watchmaking. Our collection includes a variety of timepieces with mechanical, quartz, and hybrid movements.

Are the watches on your site authentic?

Yes, all of our watches are 100% authentic. We do not support or sell fake watches, redials, or "Frankenwatches" assembled from various parts. Each item in our collection is carefully selected for its originality, condition, and rarity.

How do you ensure the authenticity of your watches?

With years of experience in collecting, buying, and selling vintage watches, we guarantee the authenticity of every piece. We provide detailed descriptions, high-quality images, and transparency about each watch's condition. If a watch contains non-original parts, such as an aftermarket bracelet, this will be clearly noted in the description.

Do you provide a warranty or guarantee with your watches?

Due to the age and often unknown service history of vintage watches, we do not offer a warranty or guarantee. However, we carefully inspect each watch and ensure it's in the best possible condition before it enters our collection. Every watch is also checked by a professional watchmaker prior to sale.

What is your return and exchange policy?

If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you have 14 days from receipt to request a return. Please email us at info@studiotokei.com with your order number to initiate the process. Returns are at your own cost and risk, so we recommend obtaining proof of postage. For returns outside the EU, please mark the parcel as "returned goods" to avoid delays. Refunds are processed within 2 working days of receiving the return, though it may take longer to appear on your bank statement.

What are the return conditions?

  • The item must be in its original, undamaged condition with no additional signs of use.
  • Refunds are processed within 2 days of receiving the returned item.
  • We will refund the item cost and shipping fees, but paid taxes are non-refundable.

Do you offer watch repair services?

We do not provide repair services for watches not purchased from us.

How should I care for and maintain my vintage watch?

Vintage watches require careful handling:

  • Avoid shocks: Vintage mechanical movements are generally less shock-resistant compared to modern watch movements.
  • Water resistance: We advise against relying on the water resistance of vintage watches, even if marked as such.
  • Date adjustment: Avoid changing the date between 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent damage to the mechanism.
  • Magnetism: Keep your watch away from strong magnets to avoid magnetization.
  • Winding: Wind gently and avoid overwinding. For automatic watches, wearing them is usually sufficient for winding.

Can I request additional information or photos of a watch before purchasing?

Yes, we can provide additional information or photos upon request. Please email us at info@studiotokei.com, and we'll respond as soon as possible. Photos of the movement may take a few weeks to provide.

Are your watches water-resistant?

We strongly recommend not relying on the water resistance of vintage watches, even if indicated on the caseback.

What does it mean when a watch is serviced?

Servicing involves cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to maintain the watch's functionality. Regular servicing is crucial for the longevity of vintage watches.

How often should a vintage watch be serviced?

The frequency of servicing depends on usage. If worn daily, servicing is recommended every 3-5 years. If worn occasionally, servicing may only be needed every 7-10 years.

Can I sell or trade my vintage watch through your webshop?

We do not offer trade-ins. However, if you have a watch that meets our criteria, you can email us at info@studiotokei.com for an appraisal.
