The watch
The classic King Seiko Chronometer in mint condition. Automatic hi-beat movement and fully original. The watch has been serviced and is running marvellously.
Apart from very minimal signs of use, it is in mint condition. The case is in perfect condition, the bezel and crystal show very light wear. The silver sunburst dial is 99 percent pristine, with subtle patina along the upper and lower edge of the dial. This is a characteristic detail often seen on these models, and is purely cosmetic.
The watch was fully serviced by a professional watchmaker in December 2025. The service included complete disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly.
All parts are fully original, with the exception of the quickset part, which has been replaced with a metal component. The original plastic part is known to be fragile and prone to failure.
It comes fitted with an original dark brown Seiko leather strap and the original 15 mm KS buckle.
The day and date can be quickset by pulling the crown one step. The day display can be shown in either Japanese Kanji or English. This is a late 5626 model, identifiable by its minimalist caseback; earlier models feature a gold medallion.
Details
The watch is powered by the Caliber 5626A automatic movement, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour for a hi-beat rate of 8 beats per second. Developed in the late 1960s, it was designed to compete with high-accuracy Swiss dress watches.
