The watch
The ‘Railway watch’, made in 1973. In very good condition. It might have been lightly polished, but the case shape is still perfectly intact. The minute hand has a stain, and the crystal has some tiny scratches at the edge. It has been fully serviced and runs very well, losing only 12 seconds per day. You can hear the movement ticking in a low beat, which is pretty satisfying to listen to. A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
Details
A manual wind with an interesting history. This was the official watch issued to Japanese railway workers in the 60’s and 70’s. The numerals made it in easy-to-read dial and the robust hand-wind, which is a relative of the high-end Chrono Master, made it the perfect functional timepiece. Now that’s what we call a tool watch!
