The watch
A favourite among vintage Seiko collectors, this Grand Seiko 6145-8000 from 1968. What makes this example so special is the crosshair on the dial, making it stand out from the regular 6145-8000.
In unpolished condition with a sharp case. The case has some signs of use, and the crystal has been replaced by a NOS acrylic crystal. There are a few blemishes on the dial, which is original. The caseback has been replaced by a transparent sapphire caseback, offering a good view of the special hi-beat movement. The original caseback will be included, but is missing the gold medallion, hence the replacement. It has been fully serviced by a professional watchmaker.
Details
Powered by the 6145A automatic movement, this watch beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour, delivering smooth and precise timekeeping – especially with the fresh service. It also features a date display at 3 o’clock, as opposed to the 6146-8000, which also has a day display.
The 36mm stainless steel case shines with Zaratsu polishing, while the sunburst dial adds a touch of elegance. The clean lines and applied indices make for a timeless look.
