The watch
A standout piece from the space age of watch design, the Seiko Advan was part of a period when Seiko experimented with bold and unconventional styles alongside flagship models like the Vanac. This rare example features a bright, colorful dial and an unusual case shape that makes it instantly recognizable. The skeleton-style bracelet enhances the watch’s distinctive character.
The stainless steel case and bracelet are in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear. The faceted crystal shows some light scratches, visible only on close inspection.
The day display can be set in both Japanese Kanji and English. The watch is running accurately at approximately +12 seconds per day, making it both a striking and reliable vintage piece.
Details
The Seiko Advan line was introduced in the 1970s as part of Seiko’s bold experiment in colorful and unconventional watch design. Known for vibrant dials, striking color combinations, and geometric or gradient patterns, Advan watches stand out as a representation of Seiko’s adventurous design approach during that era.
Most Advan models feature automatic movements, offering day-date functionality and reliable performance with typical frequencies of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
