The watch
This Seiko 4J41-0AM0 from 1997 is in very good condition and features a rare Kira-Zuri dial with a subtle sparkling texture that shifts beautifully in the light. The finish is reminiscent of modern Grand Seiko dials, giving the watch a refined character without feeling flashy.

The case shows light signs of wear. The sapphire crystal is scratch-free. It comes paired with a NOS Seiko strap with crocodile print. Overall, it presents very well and is ready to wear.

Details
Inside is Seiko’s 4J41 high-accuracy quartz movement, originally rated to around ±10 seconds per year. In the 1990s, this was serious engineering and positioned well above standard quartz calibers. The 4J series was part of Seiko’s broader effort to push quartz precision and finishing into the luxury segment, often appearing in domestic-market Dolce and Exceline models.

What makes this piece stand out is the dial. The Kira-Zuri finish creates a fine shimmering effect inspired by traditional Japanese printing techniques, adding depth without overpowering the minimalist design. Seiko later revived similar textures in modern Grand Seiko models, but examples like this show the idea was already present decades earlier.
