The watch
King Seiko Chronometer in very good condition. The watch has been professionally serviced and is running reliably. The case and bezel show minor signs of wear, while the silver sunburst dial remains 99 percent pristine. There is some subtle patina along the edge between 9 and 12 o’clock, a characteristic feature often seen on these models, which does not affect the watch’s performance.
The original mineral crystal has been replaced with a new AR-coated sapphire crystal, offering excellent scratch resistance. Combined with the full service, this makes it a perfect King Seiko for daily wear.
It comes fitted with an original dark brown Seiko leather strap with crocodile embossing, complementing the classic aesthetic.
The day and date can be quickset by pulling the crown one step, and the day display can be switched between Japanese Kanji and English. This is a late 5626 model, identifiable by its minimalistic caseback. Early models feature a gold medallion.
Details
The watch is powered by the Caliber 5626A automatic movement. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, achieving a hi-beat of 8 beats per second. Designed in the late 1960s, it was engineered to compete with high-accuracy Swiss dress watches.
