The watch Seiko Seikomatic from 1966 in outstanding, unpolished condition. The silver dial has a subtle sunburst finish, paired with crisp dauphine hands that suit the design perfectly. A rare detail is the presence of the original bracelet, something rarely seen on Seikomatics from this period. The famous ‘dolphin’ caseback remains sharply preserved as well.
The watch features a quickset day function. Pull the crown out one position to adjust the day, displayed in Japanese Kanji. The date is set by pulling the crown out fully and moving the hands back and forth between 9 and 3 o’clock.
The case remains mint and unpolished, with strong edges throughout, while the dial is completely clean. The chapter ring shows a small dark discoloration near 9 o’clock. The acrylic crystal is in good overall shape, with a few light scratches along the edge between 4 and 7 o’clock.
The watch is running well and keeping accurate time.
Details The 6206 movement was introduced in the 1960s and was commonly used in Seiko's mid-to-high-range watches, such as the Seikomatic and Seiko Weekdater models. It was part of Seiko’s effort to expand internationally and compete with Swiss mechanical watches of the time.
