The watch
The Seiko SNXJ94 - a clear nod to the Rolex Datejust, much like the Mazda Miata echoed British sports cars of the ‘70s—similar style, lower cost, and plenty of charm. This discontinued model is increasingly hard to find.
Details
Manufactured in 2008, this watch is brand new, unworn, and comes with its original box, papers, and hang tag. Though not vintage by age, its design lineage traces back to 1979, giving it a classic Seiko vibe. It features a 36mm stainless steel case, a full-size bracelet, and the reliable 7S26 automatic movement, gaining just 12 seconds per day. The day window offers bilingual display in English or Spanish. A complete package, ready to wear or collect.
Additional information
This model was produced in three phases, the earliest version (reference 7009-3110) was produced in the 80’s and 90’s. After that, Seiko released an updated version which was the 7S26-3110 with the rock solid 7S26 movement. The third iteration (officially named SNXJxx) was the 7S26-0500, which has a transparent caseback.
The ‘5’ in Seiko 5 stands for 5 principles or features: automatic winding, a day/date display, water resistance (however, please don’t go swimming wearing this watch), a recessed crown and a durable case and bracelet.
